Beasts of Chaos- the powerful animalistic creatures twisted by the power of Chaos, the Beastmen are ruled by the iron might of the cruel Minotaur Lords. The Warherds are known for their powerful sword arms and are deadly opponents in Close Combat.
Bretonnia- the forces of King Louen Leoncour. The army is centered around the majesty of the brave and chivalrous Knights of the Realm. Bretonnia combines elements of the fables of King Arthur with that of Medieval France while following the faith of the beloved 'Lady of the Lake.'
Dark Elves- the race of wicked and treacherous elves who fell from grace long ago and now practice more sinister spellcraft known as 'Dark Magic.' The Dark Elves dwell in the land of Naggaroth, the Land of Chill, in the Far North. Their forces are aided by the stealthy Assassins and the foul magic of the Witch Elves.
Dwarves- the short and stout creatures of the vast mountain halls. The Dwarves are incredibly powerful combatants with mighty weapons of war yet slow of movement. The forces of the Dwarves use ancient Rune Magic as well as the power of gunpowder and explosives.
Empire, the- the forces of Emperor Karl Franz. Similar in scope and detail to the Holy Roman Empire, the Empire combines elements of both the ancient world and "modern" technology. Magic is highly revered and the wizards are organized into Eight Schools. The army also utilizes the more modern methods of warfare including cannons, pistols and steam-powered tanks.
High Elves- a powerful and incredibly ancient race co-ruled by the Everqueen and the Phoenix King. High Elves are the most powerful spellcasters on the world of Warhammer and have access to a great number of magic spells and devices. They are also swift of foot as well as blade and take to the battlefield resplendent in bejeweled armor.
Hordes of Chaos (Daemons)- a dark and foul race of creatures from the Netherworld spawned from the power of evil magic. The Daemons are divided into powerful hordes each ruled by a powerful Daemon-Lord such as Khorne, Slaanesh, Tzeentch and Nurgle.
Lizardmen- the keepers of the ancient ways, the Lizardmen are guardians of many fabled temples and relics located in the steamy jungles of the South known as Lustria. The armies of the Lizardmen are controlled by the might of the powerful Slann Mage-Priests wielding awesome magic and potent spells. The Lizardmen are known to coat their weaponry with plant toxins that wreck havok upon enemy forces.
Orcs and Goblins- also known as the "Greenskins," the races of orcs and goblins are almost too numerous to count. They rely on blunt force and strongarm tactics to overwhelm their enemy. This army is also known to call upon the power of "Waargh" magic to defeat their opponent. Orcs and Goblins are also joined by the strength of the Trolls and Giants.
Skaven- rat creatures who use filth and disease as a weapon. The Skaven dwell in vast numbers deep underground emerging to spread war often overwhelming their enemy through sheer numbers. Their forces are sometimes augmented by unusual warmachines.
Tomb Kings- similar to the horrors found in Ancient Egypt, the Tomb Kings of Khemri are known for their use of the undead from the deep deserts of the South. Their warriors often ride forth on ghostly chariots of war leading hosts of skeletons and mummies.
Vampire Counts- a tripartite force comprised of three distinct vampiric groups from the land of Sylvannia. The Vampire Counts rely heavily on the use of dark spirits and the undead to do their bidding. The warriors of this army strike fear in the hearts of mortals and some are even said to be as intangible as the midnight air.
Wood Elves- the Wood Elves are found almost exclusively in the ancient forestland known as Athel Loren southeast of the Kingdom of Bretonnia. These beings are lead by the authority of their King Orion and his Forest Queen. The Wood Elves are the keepers of their sacred woodland home and are said to possess the power to bring the very forces of nature to bear in order to drive out intruders. Wood Elves also rely heavily on the use of the long bow and are undisputed masters of that weapon.
