The vast plains between the Coral Sea and the Ajanta Mountains have long been the ancestral home of the mighty wemics, large creatures that are half-lion and half-humanoid, that continually roam the savannahs hunting antelope and other grazing animals. There is no central authority within the Pridelands and each pride unit is ruled by an independent tribal chief known as the Pride Lord. The strongest and most dominant male within the group will generally hold this position. Some of the larger human settlements that peacefully coexist with the wemics are often governed by an elder, a chieftain or perhaps an emir or similar minor noble. The Pridelands are a mixture of steppe and tropical wet/dry environments. Areas farther inland are predominantly steppe while the coastal regions remain hot with alternate wet and dry seasons.

The folk of these grasslands are mainly agrarian and exist on hunting, farming and some light trading. Most have established standard hunting grounds and respect one another's territory. Crossing over the hunting ground of another pride can be seen as an act of war. The human and halfling settlements are mainly civilized herdsmen that raise sheep, cattle and goats.

The largest city of the Pridelands is known as Nershima, the City of Lions. Nershima serves as the unofficial capital during times of danger when the lands are united due to some outside threat. During these times, the whole of the prides come together united under the banner of the strongest and most powerful of the Pride Lords. This unification is always temporary and lasts only as long as the outside threat exists. The wemics and the humans also trade peacefully with several tribes of savage elves from the Ungava Jungle as well as a number of minor mining settlements run by the local brown dwarven population.

Rumors: The Beastlord known as Sherga is said to frequent these lands keeping a watchful eye on the wemics, lions and herding creatures of the savannah.
