The Maleficants are members of a dark and foul order dedicated to the Dreadmother goddess herself- Mordagh, goddess of evil. They are sworn devotees of the goddess and work to spread her influence wherever they are able. The Maleficants are the goddess' most unholy of servants and their evil can take many forms. They are known as seducers, corruptors, deceivers and barers of hate.

Special: A Maleficant must worship the goddess Mordagh, the Dreadmother.
Class Skills:
The Maleficant's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Bluff (Cha), Craft (Int), Disguise (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Forgery (Int), Gather Information (Cha), Hide (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (any) (Int), Move Silently (Dex), Sense Motive (Wis).

Class Features
All of the following are class features of the Maleficant Prestige Class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Maleficants are proficient with all simple and martial weapons and any light or medium armor and shield (except tower shields).
Aura of Evil (Ex): The power of a Maleficant's aura of evil is equal to her class level, just like the aura of a cleric of an evil deity.
Ward of Profanity (Su): Beginning at 1st level, a Maleficant generates a field of pure evil that grants the Maleficant a +2 deflection bonus to Armor Class and a +2 resistance bonus to all saves against any good-aligned being. Furthermore, beings of evil alignment will sense this taint of profanity granting the Maleficant a +2 enhancement bonus on Charisma checks with evil beings. This ward is only active while the Maleficant is conscious.
Many Faces of Evil (Su): At 2nd level, the Maleficant is able to assume the form of creatures of the same type as the Maleficant's normal form. This supernatural ability is similar in effect to the alter self spell as cast by a sorcerer equal in level to the Maleficant's character level. This ability may be used a number of times per day equal to the character's charisma bonus (if any) with a minimum of 1 time per day.
Dark Presence: The Maleficant is so proficient at using words to trick and deceive others that she gains a +2 circumstance bonus on Bluff and Intimidate checks beginning at 2nd level. This ability increases to +4 bonus at 5th level and a +6 bonus at 8th level.
Taint of Evil (Su): At 4th level, a Maleficant is able to use his supernatural ability to imbue an area in a 30-foot radius around the character with negative energy similar in effect to the desecrate spell. The taint of evil remains in effect for 2 hours per prestige level. The area will radiate evil if detected. This ability may be used once per day.
Nondetection (Sp): At 5th level, the Maleficant gains the power to cast nondetection as a spell-like ability with a caster level equal to her prestige class level. This ability allows the Maleficant to work unspeakable acts without being detected by those seeking to foil her plans. This ability may be used a number of times per day equal to her Charisma bonus (if any) with a minimum of once per day.
Master of Deception (Su): At 7th level, the Maleficant is so skilled at lying and bending the truth that the character becomes immune to detect thoughts and zone of truth spells. The character is also able to mask her alignment and suspend the aura of evil for a number of hours equal to her prestige level.
Touch of Pain (Su): At 10th level, the Maleficant gains the frightening ability to inflict horrible pain with a successful touch attack. This supernatural ability can be used once per day and is similar in effect to a symbol of pain spell but with no save. The effect lasts for 1 hour. The maleficant must declare that she wishes to use this ability before attempting a touch attack. If the attack fails, the ability is used up for that day.
