This ancient weapon known commonly as the Burning Blade was a flaming sword of considerable quality. Fashioned from 200 years ago by the great black dwarf sorcerer-swordmaster Dorzog the Crafty, the Burning Blade had been carefully crafted as a primary weapon to be used during the Troll Wars of 975. The sword was arguably the turning point that lead the dwarves to ultimate victory over the monstrous hordes of the Troll King Sherakai but not before the sword was lost when its master attempted to pursue the retreating enemy into the very heart of the Rushwind Mountains never to be seen again.

The Burning Blade was last seen in the possession of the Rogue-Lord of Sundell almost 20 years ago. How he obtained the weapon was never revealed but the blade was reported stolen several years later and has not been seen since. The blade itself is made of adamantium with a gold alloy handle and polished ruby stone pommel.

The Burning Blade possesses the following abilities:

• The weapon is Intelligent with scores of INT 13, WIS 10 and CHA 13.
• The weapon can communicate with its wielder through a limited form of empathy by conveying urges and emotional responses.
• The sword has an alignment of Lawful neutral.
• It has an Ego score of 9.
• The sword can see and hear within 60 ft.
• Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): 3/day: daze monster, 1/day- minor image; Caster Level 12th, save DC=15 + spell level.
