Crafted by the fabled War Mages of Rendore, these marvelous weapons were used in many legendary battles against the hordes of Argonak. They often serve as a symbol of the office of War Mage and a sacred trust that is bestowed upon the wizard that wields the weapon. As with any weapon during war time, many were said to have been lost on the battlefield and have appeared in treasure vaults throughout Hyeunre. The Sorcerer-General of Rendore himself is said to wield one of these magic weapons.

The Battlerod appears as an ordinary heavy mace crafted of black iron. The handle is shod in sturdy leather wrappings with a leather loop at the end to wrap around the wrist when not in use. War runes and ancient symbols of battle are carved into the mace head which otherwise appears as a plain orb. The Battlerod has the following abilities:

• It is a +1 heavy mace
• It has the goblinoid bane special ability.
• Wielder receives a +2 morale bonus against all fear effects.
• Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): 3/day- detect evil, command; Caster Level 8th; save DC 14 + spell level.
