In the earliest days, before time was written and recored, there were said to have been created by Denethor, the Father of the Mountain, the first of the dwarves. The dwarf god crafted seven great lords as paragons of the race. These Seven Lords of Dwarvendom were brothers all and each in turn became the fathers of their race. Each of the Seven Lords was the head of one of the Seven Great Houses, the origins of the dwarf race and the rivals of none. These seven are now recorded in the ancient dwarven Halls of Record as being:
As the first and perhaps greatest of the kings of old, Durin was crowned in the great Temple of Denethor in the Mystic Mountains of the West. As a token of his royalty, each of the remaining brothers created an heirloom to bestow upon their elder brother which in turn became collectively known as the Regalia of the First King. None of these priceless artifacts are said to have survived past the Draconic Age when the dwarven ancestors split into the various subraces and kingdoms throughout Hyerune. However, the legends of these powerful weapons and tools still ring on in the legends as a song of hope to the dwarven race. And who knows? Perhaps one day the legends may be born anew.
The Regalia of the First King consists of six powerful artifacts. Each a masterwork weapon, tool or device with great magic of its own. Collectively, they are said to possess the power to unite the whole of the Khazar race. The six pieces of the Regalia are known as the Axe of Souls, the Runehammer, the War Crown, the Heartstone Anvil, the Mattock of Evermine and the fabled Singing Lyre.
