The Faerie Isle is an land of great enchantment and ancient lore, home of countless number of fae creatures from both the Seelie and Unseelie Court. Its exact location can not be determined as it is said to rise and fall beneath the waves with the waxing and waning of the Pearl Moon. Each time the island rises, it appears in a new location somewhere on Hyerune and it is during this time that the faerie folk may leave the island shores and depart for the mainland in order to establish new settlements or minor kingdoms. During the times when the island is sunk beneath the waters, it is generally believed by scholars that the Faerie Isle actually enters its own Demiplane of existance and remains there until the next lunar cycle. Anyone standing on the islands shores when it fades from the physical plane would be trapped in this Demiplane with the island until it re-enters the Prime Material.
The topography of the Faerie Island is somewhat of a mystery to most sages as it possesses certain refractive properties that render the island invisible at times and it is continuously blanketed with rolling fogs and mists. Ancient tales from sailors who claim to have stumbled across the island during their travels state that the island itself is breathtakingly beautiful and remains eternally Spring throughout the year.
The social structure and exact population of the Faerie Isle is unclear and somewhat of a mystery. Faerie scholars often offer opposing arguments as to the actual layout of the land. Most likely the island is ruled by a powerful faerie King or Queen who sits at the head of the Seelie Court of good-natured fae. The island is quite possibly home to thousands of such beings including sprites, pixies, dryads, brownies, nymphs, satyrs, etc. It is also argued, however, that the island also has a 'darkside' ruled over by an Unseelie Court governed by wicked hags and evil faeries.
The Faerie Isle is also thought to be the location of a fabulous temple dedicated to the goddess Fionaidhe. The high priestess of the temple is said to be a powerful cleric of epic proportions.
