The land known as the Ivory Kingdoms is actually not a kingdom but rather a confederation of nomadic and merchant clans each governed independently by a clan leader of some sort. As the name of the land suggests, the Ivory Kingdoms are well known for their elephant population and trade in ivory is a lucrative commodity. The elephants that roam the vast grasslands are sometimes tamed by the humans and used as beasts of burden or even as warbeasts. The land itself is a tropical savannah with moderate rainfall throughout much of the year and hot temperatures throughout.

The nomads of these lands are a relatively peaceful folk but have become somewhat leary of the Bhandari to the west. The coastal communities likewise suffer from the occasional pirate raids and the mighty ship of the Pirate King Khaladon is sometimes seen sailing the horizon across the southern waters of the Coral Sea. The northern tribes have been plagued by the orc and gnoll clans of the Ungava Jungle and the surrounding badlands.

This region has few spellcasters among their numbers since arcane spellcraft is somewhat rare. Those few individuals who do possess such a talent are generally viewed with awe and perhaps a certain degree of fear. More common are the tribal shamans and adepts. These women and men are gifted in the skills of herbalism and simple folk magic.

Rumors: The Ivory Kingdoms are the home of the rare race of creatures known as the loxodons, elephant humanoids who have bipedal forms but the head of elephants. These creatures are mainly pacifists who tend to keep to themselves. Their shamans are known to possess fairly potent adjuration magic and they worship the peaceful god known as Tamandua.
