The Horde Raiders are a chaotic collection of violent, warlike nomads united under the name of the Great Khan, a powerful and charismatic barbarian. They are highly efficient horsefolk that have plagued the surrounding countries for ages. The simple fact that they tend to be highly chaotic prevents the Horde from controlling greater territory than they already do. It is widely believed by sages that the folk of these lands are Huan descended from wandering plainsmen from Kaishu who emigrated from that land by crossing over the dangerous Ash Mountains several centuries ago. Most of this region is steppe.

The life of the average nomad is marked with feats of bravery and strength. Women are equally as fierce as the men and many are worshipers of Jocasta, the Mistress of Prey. When not in combat, the nomads raise herds of animals including their prized horses, cattle, sheep and goats. From these beasts, the nomads get just about everything they require from food and milk to hides and wool for clothing. There are few permanent dwellings and most nomads live in simple round tents made from animal hides and built atop great wheeled wagons for ease of transportation.

The well-trained cavalry of the Horde Raiders is a force to be reckoned with for sure. They have a high morale and are deeply loyal to the Great Khan. They are known to fight with a number of specialized arrows. One such arrow is slitted near the arrowhead causing the arrow to emit a fearsome screech when fired and unsettle the enemy. The cavalry is also quite skilled at shooting at targets while mounted and moving at top speed.
