Hibernia is a frozen land of vast tundra that is home to herds of reindeer, elk and cariboo. The people who live here are mostly nomadic herdsmen who travel across the plains as the weather and the herds require. They are loosely united under the banner of their brave and noble king, a somewhat impetuous ranger who made quite a name for himself after a number of giant slayings. Most of the people live along southern regions of the country where the climate is the mildest and is dotted by many small forests and lakes. The northern regions are cold throughout much of the year.
The herd animals of Hibernia are the main staple of nomadic life. The animals provide meat, milk and skins which the nomads use to build most everything they require. The furs are used to make warm clothing or to trade for manufactured goods. Each tribal unit is led by a chief who is generally the eldest of the tribe. Arctic druids also have significant influence in these lands, particularly during the heart of the winter months. During the short summer season, the tundra is covered with numerous livestock and wandering tribesmen. During the harsh winter, most migrate south toward the capital city.
The nomads of Hibernia are on fairly good terms with the folk of Uldania and maintain open trade routes as they have for years. Being a somewhat scattered and simple people, they have failed to sense the threat that the land of Mordregia has on their southern neighbor. Conflicts over mining rites in the Winland Hills have caused some ill feelings between Hibernia and the Kingdom of Njordlin.
