The land of Golrune is a foul and desolate territory run rampand with the chaos of barbarians and vile humanoids. The nation exists as almost a patchwork of multiple tribal lands each controlled by the many different races that call this area home. Humans, orcs and hobgoblins are the majority as well as the most organized. These creatures tend to control the largest portions of lands. There are almost constant border skirmishes between the northern tribes of Golrune and the Ravaged Nomads to the North. The land itself is primarily a steppe environment and is cold for much of the year.
The rulers of Argonak will often recruit mercenary troops from Golrune whose fierce warriors are never too happy to oblige, especially when the right amount of coin is involved. The fortified town of Cravenkeep is certainly a hotbed of activity where one can just as easily hire a small army as get a knife in the back from the various villians that reside here. The town is dominated by an immense fortress known as Cravenkeep Castle whose lord is said to be a powerful blackguard and former paladin of Seralise. The castle is known for its fearsome reputation and is built with dark stone carted from the Mystic Mountains and polished to appear almost as if carved from a giant block of obsidian.
The small dwarven population of Golrune reside mainly in the Hollow Hills where they tend to keep to themselves and their vast mining network. Occasionally, merchants will venture to the nearby community of Badplain for purposes of trade. The dwarves have been known to turn a blind eye to morality when profit is at stake. Weapons bearing their mark have been found with warriors from both Golrune and the Ravaged Nomads.
Rumors: A number of undead sightings in the Hollow Hills have been the cause of some alarm for the dwarven communities as of lat. It is whispered that a dark necromancer has set up a base somewhere in the hills and has begun to animate the long dead remains of nomadic tribesmen buried here. A small community of peaceful fisherfolk off the coasts south of Cravenkeep have been experiencing trouble from a pack of seawolves that have recently moved into the nearby waters.
