The High Powers

ANARYA (The Fire Queen)- goddess of fire, power, anger, wrath and volcanoes. She is one of the ancient Elemental Powers of Aldari origin and resides in the Charcoal Palace within the Elemental Plane of Fire. Her cult is wide spread yet strongest in the Prelacy of Helacar.

ANU (The Lightbringer)- god of the sun, light, order and goodness. Anu was the head of the Zentradi pantheon and strongly worshiped in the Theocracy of Anubia. After the merging pantheons, it was revealed that he is the father of Auralia, the goddess of the dawn. Now he is widely worshiped across all of Hyerune and is the patron of good. His clergy are devoted to bringing light to all and stamping out darkness. Not suprisingly, there is great enmity between the cult of Anu and the faiths of Mordagh and Sheolba. Anu dwells in the golden halls known as the Skyvault in the plane of Celestria.

KHARON (The Doomlord)- god of death, the dead, doom, fatalism and necromancy. Kharon is of Aldari origin and commands a legion of spirits called the Necronauts. He is responsible, along with these spirits, for collating the souls of the recently departed and bringing them to the Courts of Cabal for judgement. Kharon himself is patron of lawful evil souls and dwells in a domain of gray wastes in the plane of Gloomrealm called the Underworld. The only entrance to this domain is through the "Gates of the Damned" said to be guarded by the monstrous Gorgal, the two-headed devil giant.

KHORDA (The Divine Prophet)- god of fate, destiny, prophecy, divination and seers. Khorda is of Jendi origin and considered the father of the twin gods of luck: Johvi and Shu. He is often depicted in religious art as wearing a blindfold and riding a white elephant. Khorda dwells in the domain known as Final Destiny in the plane of the Eternal Crossroads.

MORDAGH (The Dreadmother)- goddess of evil, nightmares, dark magic and ill omens. This hateful goddess is the patroness of all things evil and is of Aldari origin. It was her corrupting nature that turned many of the earliest beings toward the path of darkness. She is also said to have corrupted a portion of the energy field known as the Essence, the source of magic, making it evil. The Dreadmother resides in the Caverns of Despair in the plane of the Netherworld. She is worshiped across all of Hyerune and is known by a dark sisterhood called the "Maleficants."

OLDRED (The Stormrider)- god of air, storms, weather and lightning. Oldred is one of the ancient Elemental Powers and of Filani origin. He dwells in the Hallowed Halls of the plane of Spectral Vale in a vast palace known as the Glitterdome. He is the husband of Dione and the father of Galdor and Ostra. Like the air itself, he can be calm like a summer breeze or as terrible as a tempest.

SHASTRA (The Whelming Wave)- god of water, oceans, seas and purification. Of Aldari origin, Shastra is one of the ancient Elemental Powers and has dominion over the water element. He resides in the domain of Waveheart on the Elemental Plane of Water. He is the father of a number of deities, namely Nauru, Nephele and Yoruba. He is always shown carrying his magic trident known as "Shellseeker."

SHARVA (Father of Time)- god of time, preservation, infinity, continuity and cohesion. Symbolized by the hourglass, Sharva is the elusive god of time and of Sundari origin. He is said to have set time in motion yet he himself lives outside of time. His faithful believe that he helped the goddess Thera bind together her creation giving it cohesion. Without the Father of Time, the world would fly apart. He dwells in the Palace of Eternity on the Sands of Time in the Plane of the Eternal Crossroads.

THERA (The Earthmother)- goddess of earth, land, gravity, quakes, creation and life. Thera is one of the ancient Elemental Powers and of Aldari origin. She is regarded as the one who first created the spark of all life and thus the goddess of creation. She is the mother of the three nature divinities: Endorie, Jaro and Vestra. She dwells in the region of the Eternal Crossroads known as the Living Core deep within the heart of that plane.

ZHURAN (Lord of Heaven)- god of the heavens, authority, rulership, civilization and bureaucracy. Of Huanese origin, many view Zhuran as the Prime of all deities, or at least among the Huanese pantheon. He is often refered to as the Celestial Emperor and dwells in the great Dome of Stars in the plane of the Twilight Lands. His cult is strongest in the Empire of Kaishu.

The Intermediate Powers

AERSILINE (The Shining Goddess)- goddess of love, beauty, vanity and human fertility. Aersiline is of Aldari origin and is the patroness of lovers everywhere. She is said to be so beautiful that no mortal man would dare harm her. Her religious order promotes the idea of "free love" and worship services are mainly group orgies. She dwells in the Land of Radiance on the plane of Spectral Vale.

CELINIA (Goddess of the Pearl Moon)- goddess of the pearl moon, stars, tides and good lycanthropes. Symbolized by a quarter moon and star, Celinia is the patroness of those seeking protective from evil. She is of Aldari origin and her cult is most active at night when evil is considered most active. They are dedicated foes of the undead and oppose the priests of Mordagh whenever possible. She dwells in the plane of Dreamrealm in the region known as the Wells of the Moon.

DIONE (The All-mother)- goddess of women, imagination, marriage and domestic life. Dione is the wife of Oldred and is seen as the Queen of the Filani pantheon. She is patroness of women and domestic life and her priestesses guard all apsects of Filani culture. She is the mother of Galdor and Ostra and dwells with her husband in the Glitterdome in the Hallowed Halls of the Spectral Vale.

ENDORIE (Lady of the Evergreens)- goddess of nature, plants, horses and the natural balance. Endorie is the eldest child of Thera and one of the Triad of nature deities along with her brother Jaro and sister Vestra. Endorie, of Aldari origin, represents the sometimes aloof forces of nature that can be both a blessing and a curse. There is great inter-faith rivalry between the various aspects of her cult. She is particularly revered in the lands of Deepdale, Hyland and Uldania. A small, but growing, portion of her cult are considered eco-terrorists. The goddess dwells in the Green Havens in the Eternal Crossroads.

GALADINE (Lord of Honor)- god of chivalry, honor, duty and paladins. Along with Galdor and Jocasta, Galadine is one of the three powers that form the War Triad. The Lord of Honor represents duty, honor and the more courageous aspects of war. He is the patron of paladins everywhere. He is of Aldari origin and dwells in the Halls of Glory in the plane of Celestria. He is symbolized by an upright broad sword and his church sponsors a number of knightly orders.

GALDOR (Lord of Battle)- god of battle, strength, courage and warriors. Along with Galadine and Jocasta, Galdor is one of the three powers taht form the War Triad. He represents the head-strong battle lust as well as the common warrior. He is of Filani origin and is the son of Oldred and the goddess Dione. He dwells in the Halls of the Slain on the Spectral Vale and is best known for his magical battleaxe known as "Giantclever." Many myths tell of his courageous battles against the evil races of giant-kind.

JINGDU (The Oathbinder)- god of law, justice, truth, judges and promises. Jingdu is of Huan origin and is the powerful god of justice and law. He is patron of judges everywhere and urges his priests to be impartial at all times. He has often presided, according to many myths, over several discrepancies between the gods as he is known to be fair and unbiased. His clergy are often found serving on various law courts or law making bodies. He resides in the Courts of Pure Truth on the plane of the Twilight Lands.

JOCASTA (The Mistress of Prey)- goddess of war, murder, violence, slaughter and assassins. Along with Galadine and Galdor, Jocasta is one of the three powers that form the War Triad. Jocasta, unlike the other war deities, represents raw blood thirst and war for its own sake. She is the patroness of violence and hostility, particularly murder and assassination. The Order of the Unseen Hand is one of the more powerful martial orders of her cult and is a secretive society of assassins, rogues and fighters. Of Aldari origin, Jocasta is said to be served by a trio of powerful banshees and is attended by two demi-goddesses of war, Nazrine and Radha. She resides on the Bloodfields, a region of great violence on the plane of Infernia.

KARNAK (Lord of Wastes)- god of deserts, desolation, wastelands, outcasts and scorpians. According to Zentradi myth, Karnak is the brother of Anu and was once the sun god. He was said to have been so overburdened by his responsibilities that he went mad and attempted to drive the sun into the world. Anu stopped him in time and assumed the portfolio of the sun, casting Karnak down to the deserts. The Lord of Wastes has never forgiven his brother and has vowed to destroy him at all costs. He dwells in the portion of the Gloomrealm known as the Barrenlands.

MAYA (Queen of the Magi)- goddess of magic, abjuration and wisdom. Maya is of Zentradi origin and is the powerful goddess of magic, particularly magic used to combat the forces of evil known as "Silver Magic." She is in direct contrast to Mordagh, the goddess of dark magic, or magic used for evil purposes. She is said to have been the creator of the source of all magic known as the "Essence," a portion of which was corrupted by the Dreadmother. Maya dwells in the portion of the plane of Dreamrealm known as the Vale of Mysteries.

SHIRAN (Father of Demons)- god of demons, chaos, destruction, disorder and anarchy. Of Sundari origin, Shiran is said to have created the foul creatures known as demons and set them loose on the world until they were banished to the plane of Infernia, sometimes called the "Realm of Demons." He is an utterly chaotic and unpredictable power and many sages argue that he is quite possibly insane. He dwells in Infernia in the realm known as the Swirling Maelstrom.

THUNE (The Keeper of Knowledge)- god of knowledge, science, artifice, learning and libraries. Thune is the guardian of all knowledge but knowledge that is to be shared and not kept secret. He is of Zentradi origin and is said to have created the first letters and language and taught the earliest of mortals the various sciences. He is said to be the father of Hazalyn, the goddess of scribes. His cult is opposed to the faiths of Durga, the derro god of secrets and Zhinda, the god of espionage, since both of these powers represent the keeping of secrets or the oppression of knowledge. Thune dwells in the great Halls of Knowledge on the plane of the Twilight Lands where a copy of every bit of knowledge ever revealed is said to exist.

UINO (The Waverider)- god of exploration, adventure and artic seas. Often associated with the narwhale, Uino is of Filani origin and patron of those who seek adventure. He is the son of Shastra and represents the cold waters of the North. He is said to carry a triple strength Iron Horn of Valhalla and resides on the Isles of the Glorious on the plane of Ethyria.

VESTRA (The Grain Mother)- goddess of agriculture, farmers, grain, growth and domesticated nature. Vestra is the daughter of Thera and one of a Trio of Nature divinities along with her siste Endorie and brother Jaro. Vestra represents nature that has been domesticated and her faith is very popular in rural communities. She is patroness of farmers and agriculture and it is said that no food will grow without the blessings of the Grain Mother. Most of her priests are druids and her cult is on good terms with Periwinkle, the halfling goddess of gardens and abundance. Vestra dwells in the House of Everfull on the Fields of Plenty on the plane of Dreamrealm.

The Lesser Powers

AEROZ (The Brother of the Wayside)- god of hospitality, goodwill, journeys and travelers. Aeroz is of Jendi origin and one of the Gods of the Four Blessings, along with Henei, Niamye and Shu. Patron of travelers, his clergy maintain a number of wayside chapels and inns throughout Hyerune. Most inns not run by his priesthood will at least maintain a small shrine dedicated to the Brother of the Wayside. He dwells in the Havens of Slumber on the plane of Celestria.

ARCANUS (Lord of Incantations)- god of wizards, sorcerers, spellcraft and alchemy. Arcanus is of Aldari origin and welcomes all alignments and any practitioneer of the arcane. He is said to represent the neutral aspect of magic as a tool, whereas Maya is the goddess of good magic and Mordagh the goddess of evil magic. He teaches that magic is the purest of skills and there are many wonders yet to be discovered. All magic is of some value and is neither good nor evil but dependent on how it is used. He dwells on the Veiled Domain on the plane of Eternal Crossroads.

AURALIA (The Morning Star)- goddess of the dawn, morning and beginnings. Auralia is of Aldari origin but is believed to the daughter of the Zentradi god of the sun, Anu. She is responsible for opening the gates of heaven each morning to bring light to the day. Her faith is vigilant about bringing light to areas of shadow and destroying undead wherever these abominations may be. She resides with her father in the Sunvault on the plane of Celestria.

BRENNA (Mistress of Summer)- goddess of Summer, revelry, adulthood and the South. Brenna is one of the sister goddesses known as the Four Seasons. She is a gentle and good-natured power and represents the joys of summer. She resides in the portion of the plane of Dreamrealm known as Sunfast.

CABEL (The Soulguide)- god of the afterlife, judgement, protection of the dead and mourning. Cabel is of Zentradi origin and is responsible for weighing the souls of all the departed and determining which plane of existence they shall spend eternity. Souls are brought to his halls by Kharon or his minions the Necronauts where they are judged. The result is recorded by Thune, the god of knowledge. His clergy often officiate at funerals and are protectors of graveyards and crypts. Cabel despises tomb robbers and his clergy are charged with tracking any who dare to profane a tomb sanctified in his name and slay the culprit. The cult sponsors a number of orders that do just that. He is sometimes associated with the jackal and resides in the Hall of Judgement on the Eternal Crossroads.

GLACIA (The Ice Queen)- goddess of winter, ice, snow and the North. Glacia is of Aldari origin and one of the sister goddesses known as the Four Seasons. She represents the often harsh and unforgiving Winter. Her cult is small yet powerful and focused primarily in the northern kingdoms, particularly in the Kingdom of Hibernia. She resides in the Citadel of Ice and Snow in the region of Ethyria known as Wintersheart.

GLANYA (The Keeper of Tears)- goddess of healing, grief and sorrow. Glanya is of Aldari origin and is the benigh goddess of healing. Her cult is a passive one and rarely leaves the temple or community they are assigned. Her cult is centered on the Free-City of Highwall. The famous "Healers of Highwall" are well known for their curative magic.

HENEI (The Joydancer)- goddess of joy, happiness, rice and dancing. Henei is of Huan origin and is a popular goddess among many of the common folk, particularly in the rural regions of Kaishu, Huantar and Nythalia. She resides in the Bountiful Fields on the plane of Celestria.

HRUNGNIR (The Thought Herder)- god of thought, memory and telepathy. Hrungnir is of Filani origin but is viewed as an outcast of sorts. His cult is divided along alignment with each aspect of the cult viewing telepathy and thought in a different way. He resides in the Halls of Remembrance on the Eternal Crossroads. He is widely revered by psioncists everywhere.

ISHVAR (Bearer of Dreams)- god of dreams, omens, mysticism, sleep and rest. Ishvar is of Sundari origin and is viewed not only as the patron of dreams but of achieving one's dreams and ambitions. He is most popular in the Padishate of Bengalia and the Republic of Jharsol. His priesthood is a quiet and unassuming lot and he is often associated with the lamb. He resides in the Dreamhalls on the plane of Eternal Crossroads.

JALADHI (Mistess of Rats)- goddess of vermin, wererats, cowardice and alleyways. Jaladhi is of Sundari origin and is patroness of alleys and the misdeeds that commonly occur in them. Many wererats pay this goddess homage and her cult is fairly common in only the larger cities and towns. It is said her priesthood can command rats just as normal clerics command the undead. She resides on the Plains of Infestation on the Gloomrealm.

JARO (Lord of Beasts)- god of jungles, wilderness, wild beasts and savagery. Jaro is one of the three nature deities along with his sisters Endorie and Vestra. He is the son of Thera and represents the savagery of nature and the wild beasts of the jungle. He is of Zentradi origin and his cult is particularly active in the Dark Jungle, the Tanglewood, the Ungava, the Muhgahli and the Shaolin jungles. He resides on the plane of Ethyria known as the Feral Menagerie. He will often appear to his worshipers in the form of a dire black panther but when in human form he will be wearing a pair of clawed leather gauntlets much like the claws of a wild beast.

JOHVI (Lord of Chance)- god of gambling, chance, risk and luck. Johvi, along with his twin Shu, is the son of Khorda, the god of fate. Johvi represents luck in its raw form. He is patron of happenstance and pure chance. His worship services often involve games of chance and gamblers in particular pay this deity homage. He resides in the Halls of Chance on the plane of Ethyria.

KHORSA (Son of Breezes)- god of winds, change, movement and avians. Khorsa is the unpredictable god of the winds. His cult professes constant movement and change and is particularly active in the island Kingdom of Peregrine. Kenku and some aarakocra also pay this god homage. It is secretly whispered by some that he is the illegitimate son of Oldred, the god of air. Khorsa resides in the Aerie of the Divine Wind on the Elemental Plane of Air.

NAURU (Prince of the Sea)- god of sailors, sea travel and shipbuilding. Nauru, of Jendi origin, is the patron of sailors and any who travel the open sea. Many merchants pay him homage to ensure a safe journey. To have a priest of Nauru on board is surely a sign of good fortune. Temples dedicated to the Prince of the Sea will sometimes possess magical items that control the water or weather. His cult is particularly active in the Brythian Empire and the Border Isles. A small temple can also be found on the Undine Isle. Nauru resides in the plane of Eternal Crossroads in the area known as the Infinite Dockyards.

NEPHELE (The Rainbringer)- goddess of rain, moisture, floods, monsoons and hippos. Nephele, oddly enough, is of Zentradi origin, a predominate desert people. She is the goddess of gentle showers to those who are worthy and the caller of terrible floods and monsoons to those who displease her. She is the daughter of Shastra and the sister of Nauru and Yoruba. She is now particularly active in the water Kingdom of Huantar. She resides in the Monsoon Palace on the Elemental Plane of Water. She is said, by the people of Anubia, to have blessed that land with the great River Tara.

NESSA (Lady of Blossoms)- goddess of Spring, birth, renewal and the East. Nessa is one of the sister goddesses known as the Four Seasons. She is of Aldari origin and represents the end of winter and awakening of nature and the renewal of life. She is a joyful and gentle goddess but is diligent in protecting the young and seedlings. She resides in the Valley of Eternal Spring on the plane of Spectral Vale.

NIAMYE (Mother of Peace)- goddess of mercy, peace and childbirth. Niamye is the gentle Huanese goddess of mercy. Her clergy are charged with spreading her dogma of non-violence wherever it is required. Clerics of the Mother of Peace are known to be wise diplomats, powerful healers and abjurers. The cult forbids intentionally harming another intelligent being except in self defense. Niamye has said to be personally responsible for the creation of the religious order known as the Benificents, female clerics, monks and wizards of great compassion that oppose their counter-order of Maleficents who are devoted to Mordagh, the goddess of evil. The Queen of Nythalia is believed to be a member of this goodly order. Niamye resides in the House of Reverence in the Abode of Peace on the plane of Celestria.

ODANA (Mistress of Autumn)- goddess of Autumn, middle age and the West. Odana is one of the sister goddesses known as the Four Seasons. She is of Aldari origin and represents the end of the growing season, the death of nature and the herald of Winter. Along with the goddess Vestra, she is sometimes affiliated with the harvest. Clerics of Odana are said to have some power over death just as their patroness represents the death of nature before it can rise anew. Odana resides in the Golden Fields on the Eternal Crossroads.

OSTRA (The Soulsinger)- goddess of music, poetry, song and bards. Ostra is of Filani origin and is the daughter of Oldred and Dione and the sister of Galdor. She is the patroness of bards and any who delight in song and music. She resides in the Hallowed Halls on the plane of Spectral Vale and commands the "Soulchorus," and army of warrior-bards who sing with the harmony of pure light.

SEDNA (The Deathstalker)- goddess of revenge and punishment. According to Zentradi mythology, Sedna is the daughter of the sun god Anu but represents his more dark side. She is the punisher of the gods for mortal transgressions and is known to go into a barbaric rage whenever she smells blood. She resides in the Savage Lands on the plane of Infernia.

SHU (Giver of Blessings)- god of prosperity, good fortune and glad tidings. Shu is one of the Gods of the Four Blessings and the twin brother of Johvi and the son of Khorda. Unlike his brother, Shu is the patron of good luck and fortunate blessings. He resides on the plane of Celestria in the realm known as the Domain of One Thousand Blessings.

SOBEK (The Endless Hunger)- god of hunger, guilt, drowning and crocodiles. Sobek is of Zentradi origin and is the crocodile headed god of hunger and guilt. He carries the fabled "Drowning Net" which he uses to drag unsuspecting mortals to a watery death. Temples dedicated to the Endless Hunger have crocodile pits and vast food pantries. He resides in the Feeding Pits on the plane of Netherworld.

SUOMI (The Great Maker)- god of blacksmiths, metalwork, armorers and engineers. Suomi is of Filani origin and is the greatest of divine craftsmen. He is said to have had a hand in the creation of many of the gods personl weapons and armor. He resides in the Great Toolworks on the Eternal Crossroads and is personally attended by a number of fire giants, salamanders, azar and fire elementals.

SURSI (The Plague Mother)- goddess of disease, plagues and sickness. Sursi is the dread goddess of illnesses. Very few beings actually worship the Plague Mother but may call her name simply to fend of sickness or lessen its effects. She is on Sundari origin and is an evil and indiscriminate goddess who joys in affecting rich and poor, young and old with whatever malady she desires. She resides in the Rotting Citadel on the plane of Netherworld.

ULRIK (Master of the Hunt)- god of hunting, survival and wilderness lore. Ulrik is widely revered by those who live in inhospitable climates, particularly in the far North as he is of Filani origin. He rides a divine horse and is always accompanied by a pack of large wolfhounds that serve as his constant companions. Although a god of the hunt, he teaches his followers never to hunt to excess but rather for necessity. He dwells in the Skylodge on the plane of Ethyria.

YORUBA (Lady of Currents)- goddess of rivers, streams and running water. Yoruba is of Zentradi origin and is the daughter of Shastra and sister to Nauru and Nephele. She is the protectress of all waterways and the guardian against pollution. She resides in the Field of Streams on the Eternal Crossroads.

ZHINDA (The Hidden Lord)- god of intrigue, spies, espionage, lies and deceit. Zhinda is the antithesis of civilization. His worshipers are spies and assassins that gather bits of information to sell to the highest bidder or for use as blackmail. He is on Aldari origin and always wears a black mask. He resides in the False Palace in the region of Undernight on the plane of Netherworld.

The Demi-Powers

HAZALYN (Messenger of the gods)- goddess of messengers, scribes and writing. Hazalyn is of Jendi origin but her actual divine origin has been the source of argument among sages and scholars for centuries. The most widely accepted belief is that she is the daughter of Thune. She is the sacred messenger of the gods and brings their decrees to the mortal world. She is said to be able to move in the blink of an eye. She resides in the Hall of Records on the Eternal Crossroads.

NAZRINE (The Hideous One)- goddess of panic and discord. Nazrine is of Zentradi origin and the personal attendant of Jocasta, the war goddess. She was a barbarian in her mortal life that was so hideous that upon her death she was raised to demi-power status and assumed the panic portfolio. Her bone club is said to be made from the thigh bone of an enormous behir and pierced in a number of places so that is screams when it is swung. She resides in the Forest of Fear on the Bloodfields in Infernia.

RADHA (Maiden of Pain)- goddess of pain, torture and sacrifice. Radha is said to have been a cruel tyrant, butcher and murderess according to Sundari mythology. Her name was often used to frighten small children into submission and now she serves alongside Jocasta, the war goddess. Radha lives in the Bloodfields on the plane of Infernia in an area known as the Dungeons of Pain. She is such an effective torturer that demons are even said to give the demi-goddess a wide berth.

SERALISE (Lady of Victory)- goddess of victory, strategy and skill-at-arms. Seralise is a martial deity of Aldari origin concerned with strategy and skill and how a war is won rather than the cause. She resides in the fabled Silverheart Citadel on the Fields of the Victorious on the plane of Twilight Lands.

ST. BRANNOC (The Penetant)- god of penence and spiritual journeys. St. Brannoc is the god of those who seek enlightenment or forgiveness. He is a introspective yet kindly deity and his cult sponsors a number of monk orders. He is of Aldari origin and resides at the peak of the Mountains of Enlightenment on the plane of Celestria.

ST. TRINIAN (Lord of Lost Causes)- god of vigilantes, lost causes, individuality, righteousness and self-preservation. St. Trinian is a god of those who seek to right a perceived wrong. He is popular among many of the common folk of the battle scarred Kingdom of Rendore. He is of Aldari origin. His clergy promote the use of guerrila tactics to combat foes that may out number or overpower you. He is sometimes associated with the fox and lives in the Glorious Havens on the Eternal Crossroads.
