Physical Description: Godfred is a middle-aged Aldari human with graying brown hair and brown eyes. His face is shaved clean and he has an athletic build. He will usually be wearing his gleaming suit of full plate mail armor and carries a magical shield, sword and longbow. The King of Rendore stands 6'3" tall and weighs 195 pounds. He is 51 years of age.
Personality Description: Godfred is a serious man though can still be quite charming during the few occasions when he is able to relax. Almost continual warfare with the humanoids of Argonak have taken there toll on the king as it had on his father and his father before. Still, the king is an honorable man and quite chivalrous. He is well-mannered and wise. He speaks with authority and has a commanding presence as befits a warrior-king.
Background: Godfred ascended to the throne of Rendore upon the death of his father King Renald when he was 36. The young king loved his father very much and his death was a bitter blow to him. When he was still the Crown Prince, Godfred would often lead the charge of battle with the northern troops against the armies of the hobgoblin kings of Argonak. Now as king, he is required by tradition to remain behind the lines of skirmish and direct the tides of battle along with his generals.
The king is very popular with his people and has lead them well during his fifteen years on the throne. He relies heavily on the advice and counsel of his nobles and military generals who serve on his War Council. As king of course he has final say on all matters but rarely makes a decision without first consulting this advisory body, many of whom are considered close friends and companions to the king.
The king is married to Queen Mariam (LG female human [Aldari], Ari 9), a princess of a powerful northern house. The couple reside in the heavily fortified Glorystone Castle in the capital city of Solovar. They have five children, three sons and two daughters. Crown Prince Barret (LG male human [Aldari], Pal 8 of Galadine) will succeed his father upon Godfred's death.
