Danthor Moonchaser is the venerable President of the Sorcerous Society headquartered on the enchanted Floating Kingdoms. The Society itself is a fraternity of sorts of sorcerers throughout Hyerune to gather together for mutual affectation, support, knowledge and research. Danthor has served as the organization's head officer for over a decade and is greatly admired for his powers and wisdom.
Description: Danthor is a male human of Zentradi descent. He is tall and thin at 6'1" and weighing 145 pounds. The years have caught up with the great sorcerer and he has begun to show signs of age, particularly in a slight stoop when he stands. He is also not able to move as fast as he once was (thus the slower Speed). Danthor has dark skin, white hair and a clean shaven face. Although his face is quite weathered with age, he is still an attractive man. Danthor Moonchaser is 69 years of age.
Personality: Danthor is outgoing and adventurous. He is quick to action and often slow to anger but whoa to those who attempt to rile up the powerful sorcerer. Danthor is an extrovert and is rarely found alone, often enjoying the company of numerous courtesans. He is somewhat proudful and has been known to boast from time to time but is wise enough to yield the floor to others as well.
Combat:
Danthor Moonchaser is a weak physical combatant but a capable spellcaster to be sure. He always wears a number of magical protective devices ("bracers, don't leave home without 'em") and knows a number of innate defensive spells as well.
Lacking in many of the magical divinations of other wizards, Danthor must rely on his own keen senses as well as the warnings of his numerous associates to protect himself from danger. If an enemy should befall him, he will usually react in the blink of an eye by casting his quickened battering ram, especially if the opponent(s) have managed to get too close to the sorcerer. He will then try to summon forth a number of undead as well as his phantom-like faithful hound in order to engage the enemy and/or defend his person.
If the enemy is bunched up in tight formation, he will hurl his hail of stones or sleet storm and then pick out individual leader-types using his magic missile, ice knife and orb of force. Enemy spellcasters will often find themselves trapped by a dispelling screen or targeting by a sting ray. He will generally reserve his finger of death and lucent lance for only the most deadly of opponents.
If an enemy does manage to break through his summoned creatures, Danthor will again attempt to push them back with his forcewave. If a distant opponent continually targets the sorcerer with spells or missile weapons, Danthor will responded with his quickened magic missiles followed by a great thunderclap if necessary. If his offensive spells become depleted, Danthor will use his potent bite of the weretiger to assume the form of a great tiger and attack using claws and bite. He will always reserve one 7th-level spell slot to cast a quickened gaseous form spell at a moments notice in order to escape at the last minute if the battle is lost.
