Description: Balthor is a thin, middle-aged human of Aldarian and Jendi descent. His nose is slightly hooked, his graying hair is receding and he walks with somewhat of a stoop. He stands 5'9" and weighs 139 pounds. He is 51 years old.

Personality Profile: Balthor is somewhat of an enigma to his associates for he rarely wears his heart on his sleeve. He prefers to rarely show any emotion, even in combat, and he tends to be very 'matter of fact.' He often speaks his mind and cares little if his comments should happen to hurt someone's feelings though he also knows how to get what he wants. Balthor is extroverted and likes to be in control of any given situation if at all possible. He was drawn to the magical arts simply for the power such forces can offer and he will not hesitate to bring such power to bear if the situation requires it.

Background: The wizard known as Balthor was born in the distant lands of Brynthia, the middle son of a coffee merchant and a sorceress of some minor talent. Though his parents were not rich, they had most of the creature comforts any family could hope for though much of their estate would go to Balthor's elder brother upon his parent's death. Balthor on the other hand was sent to study at the prestigious Imperial College at Gartha City and possibly take up a trade. It was here he soon learned he had a knack for the arcane arts. In time, Balthor realized that if he wished to make the most of his talents he would have to train in the best schools and so persuaded his family to allow him to move to the distant city of Arcania in the continent of Aldaria, the region of his mother's ancestors. Here Balthor was enrolled in the wizard's college and he excelled in the school of evocation.

Balthor also developed a great interest in politics and was heavily active in the Council of Magi eventually rising to the rank of one of the Magelords. Balthor is very proud of his accomplishments and does not take criticism too well. He takes his role in city government very seriously though he prefers to handle his affairs as he sees fit.
