Dunwyn is the sister state of Galiwyn. Once, these two countries were a single kingdom known as Galidun. In the later half of the 9th century, a brief civil war split the two in half as separate claiments to the throne tried to seize power following the death of the childless king. The two lands have since resumed diplomatic relations but as Galwyn has begun a slide into chaos, Dunwyn has remained ever vigilant and a beacon of truth and goodness in this troubled world.
The elves of Fairdale to the north distrust Dunwyn and fear the humans seek to annex some of their territory when in reality nothing could be further from the truth. Still, the elves have isolated themselves in their valley and keep borders closed to most save the gnomes of Bediwyr.
The majority of the human population of Dunwyn is centered around the kingdom's large inland freshwater lake in the southeastern portion of the realm. Lake Windesmere is a glittering jewel and remains a popular retreat for many of the locals. Fishing and sailing are profitable industries along the lakeshore and many of the kingdom's wealthier nobles maintain secondary estates along the shores.
