Deepdale is truly a dichotomy of cultures. On the one hand, it is a collection of pious holy folk dedicated to the goddess Endorie, the goddess of nature. They are viewed as protectors of her children and all of the natural world. On the other hand, this devotion has led some to a form of fanatacism bringing about a form of eco-terrorism. Whether the druid hierarchs of the realm are aware of these vigilantes is unknown but they exist nonetheless.

Deepdale was a former protectorate of the Meridian Empire in ages past but was granted palatinate status almost a century ago. The land is home to mostly simple rural folk but is also home to a small population of intelligent animals awakened by druidic magic long ago. These beings dwell within the shelter of the dale and have been known to serve as advisers and counselors to the Council of Hierarchs and their initiates. All animals of the land are given many of the same protections under the law as the humanoids and it is illegal to hunt any animal within the boundaries of the hierarchy.

Rumors:The region of the valley known as the Fog Forest is a mysterious woodland enshrouded in heavy mists and fog. It is said to resist the effects of scrying and is forbidden for all to enter save for the druids and rangers of Endorie. The forest is believed to serve as holy ground and many be used to conduct sacred ceremonies and rituals of great antiquity.
