Cyndane appears to be the rising star of the Meridian Empire. After the Sundering War, the margrave proved to be a loyal vassal and remained true to his leige lord offering military support and tactical assistance. In gratitude, the margrave was elevated as the Baron of New Haven and received the honorific title of "Most Devoted" by the emperor himself.

Cyndane has historically been a minor player in the empire and was originally created to serve as a buffer zone against Nimeirian aggression from the South. Now that the former rebels of the empire are firmly ensconced in their new alliance, Cyndane has taken on a much more active role in the military build-up of Meridia. The emperor has issued a number of edicts allowing the margrave to begin a formal conscription in order to revitalize the armed forces. Furthermore, with the secession of Sutherlin, Cyndane has now become the primary naval outpost of the realm as well. New warships are being commissioned on a regular basis in order to restore the fleet to at least a semblence of its former glory.

Cyndane is truly the last great bastion of law and order in the empire. With much of the realm engulfed in chaos, the folk of Cyndane are known for their respect of duty and honor. The March has always been known for its rigid laws and a strong military of battle scarred veterans. A new rivalry is rapidly blooming between the March and the Duchy of Sutherlin, its former ally.
